Founded by licensed counselor and educational psychologist Dr. Jed Applerouth, we offer in-person and online Test Prep, AP & Academic Tutoring, and Executive Function Coaching throughout greater Washington.

Founded in NYC, Onsen Education is a boutique tutoring firm dedicated to private, personalized test prep with master tutors for the U.S. admissions tests and academic support—primarily SAT/ACT, GMAT/GRE, MCAT, LSAT, and APs.

Onsen tutors have at least five years’ teaching experience, have graduated from top-25 universities, and scored in the 99th percentile of the tests they teach. We take a unique approach to test prep, using mindfulness techniques to alleviate test stress/anxiety paired with personalized curricula fully customized to our students’ in-lesson needs.

Tungsten Prep is a local, woman-owned Washington, DC business that provides academic tutoring and standardized test prep to elementary, middle, and high school students. Our personalized approach helps students build the study habits and subject matter expertise to graduate from tutoring. We believe students thrive when they find that just-right tutor who understands their individual learning style, inspires them to work harder, and, hopefully, makes them laugh.
