We could not be more pleased with our experience with Kim Heffernan and the entire Moxie College Consulting team. Kim supported our son through the challenging year-long service academy application process, as he applied for summer programs at academies, for congressional nominations, and for admission to multiple service academies. Kim advised him on how to balance this load with applications to common-application schools, as well as the demands of life as a high-school junior and senior. In addition, Kim and her team advised our son in the years leading up his senior year, including helping him to finalize this course selections, weigh various summer opportunities, and navigate the college athletic recruiting process.
Kim took time to understand what our son sought from college, to identify schools that were good fits for him, and to help him balance the schools to which he wanted to apply. Kim provided counsel on when to apply to particular schools based on historical data. Provided good advice on his likelihood of acceptance at different institutions. And supported him as he worked toward varying application deadlines.
Having specialists on hand—with expertise in application-filing strategies (Kim), essays (Emily Piper), and college athletic recruiting (Sam Shapiro)—was invaluable. Each offered a unique perspective. This helped our son to prioritize and balance his efforts. And encouraged him to craft a well-rounded, compelling application package.
