Meet Jennifer
Jennifer brings decades of experience working with students and families as a special education teacher, school principal, and educational leader. She understands both the opportunities and pressures of ambitious academic environments and enjoys helping students discover who they are, what they care about, and how they learn best—especially during moments that feel stressful or uncertain.
Her approach begins with the student. Jennifer helps young people identify their strengths, intellectual interests, and values, then translates that self-understanding into thoughtful academic planning and college choices. She works with students to explore potential majors, pursue meaningful extracurricular commitments, and develop a personal narrative that reflects both achievement and authenticity. The goal is not simply admission to a selective college, but finding an environment where the student will truly thrive.
As the parent of five recent college graduates, Jennifer also understands the process from a family’s perspective. She has firsthand experience navigating honors programs, learning support options (504/IEP), and financial aid decisions. She believes the strongest outcomes emerge when students feel ownership of the process and families feel informed and supported. Jennifer partners closely with families to create a personalized roadmap that includes a balanced college list, authentic essays, and a clear picture of who the student is.

Jennifer’s work is grounded in more than 30 years in education and school leadership. With a background in special education, she brings a deep understanding of how students learn, how to advocate effectively, and how to highlight each student’s strengths within competitive admissions environments.
She has served as an alumni interviewer for the Vanderbilt University Office of Undergraduate Admissions, giving her valuable insight into how selective colleges review and evaluate applicants. She holds an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Northern Colorado, along with a Bachelor of Science in Special Education and a Master of Arts in Applied Behavior Analysis and Special Education from Vanderbilt University.
Born and raised in Miami, Jennifer has called the Aspen Valley home since 1992 and now spends her off-seasons in Beaufort, South Carolina. Outside of work, she enjoys skiing, hiking, live music, and time with family.
